70 Challenger SE Emblems
« on: April 16, 2009 - 10:16:27 PM »
I have this pair of SE emblems that I think are for a Challenger. What do you guys think they are worth? :dunno:

I paid $175 for a pair nearly fifteen years ago. They were properly (  :worshippy  ) removed from a wrecked 1970 SE in 1971 and have all three mounting pegs intact.

I'm sure the pegs on yours could be repaired. All things considered, they are in the best shape of those i've seen since purchasing my set. SE emblems show up individually and in pairs from time to time on ebay and even then many times are not the correct Challenger SE emblems without the screw in the middle.

A one-year one-model-package (1970; A63) emblem.

Considering selling them?  :)

What is the proper way to remove them without damage? I hope to be starting on mine soon, and they will have to come off. I bought 2 from year one a few years ago, so they are probably not the right ones (I'm guessing)   :clueless:

Thanks, Mike

The sail panel interior cardboard needs to be removed. I can't recall if they are retained by speed nuts similar to those which retain hood letters or plastc slip on thingys like what retain engine call-outs on a twin scooped hood.

Thanks! In that case, I won't take a screwdriver and try to pop them off. :2thumbs:

I checked the almost - nos emblems I have - the attaching hardware is still on both. I don't have my camera handy but i'll post up some pics tomorrow. It is not a commonly used type of 'clip' :sly:

Here are a couple of  :picture:  clearly showing that I was incorrect in my earlier posts when assuming two pegs were broken or guessing by which method they are held in place. I should have known this (as an SE owner) as there are only two holes where these emblems attach :walkaway:

My bad 71ChallengerSE, I didn't mean to misinform or mislead you :(
