« on: May 05, 2009 - 03:07:17 PM »
5.7L hemi + A833 + TTi swap tubular headers = which starter to choose

looks like my original starter won't do the job. i have read that I may go with a mini starter but which one will work ?

thanks for your help,

Lilian

the Hemi starter I have mounts differently to the LA & Magnum engines so I am not sure which aftermarket starter will mount to the Hemi

I used the mini starter that comes on the 5.2 & 5.9 magnum engines on my 5.7 hemi swap in my Cuda. I have a TF727, but your application should be the same if you're using an LA engine bellhousing.

if you have the 833 a V6 dodge truck starter would be what I would try

thanks heminut and chryco

but how do you find which bellhousing I have ?

It has to be an LA bellhousing or a 5.7/6.1 bellhousing, anything else will not bolt up without an adapter. Since you have an 833 tranny on it I figure you have an LA bellhousing as I don't believe the late hemi bellhousing would accept an 833 tranny.
