70 e body jack location
« on: April 15, 2009 - 06:14:19 PM »
All the pictures seem to be gone on how to install the jack in a 70 trunk.  Anyone got any pictures for 1970?

Thanks, that is the way I installed it. Except for the jack hook, where does it go?

On my convertible it goes under the rear of the space saver spare tire.
I think there may be some differences in hook location depending on if you have a space saver or full size spare, convertible or hardtop, and maybe even later production vs. early production.
Hopefully someone can chime in here with all the details of hook location.  I know under the rear of the space saver is correct for my 'vert and for my April built T/A that also has a space saver spare.

My hook has a little hole on it, so I put the spring through that hole and the hook stays on the jack ok. Mine was built sep 9 1969

Here is a picture showing approximately where the hook goes with a space saver.

I just remembered I had a '70 trunk jack sticker sitting in the next room.
It shows the hook where mine is for the convertible and cuda hardtops with space saver.
For Challenger hardtops with space saver it goes on the stud, above the tire and jack base, and below the wing nut. Which is the same as where it goes when you have a full size spare tire.
The decal shows the option of having a full size spare with a convertible, I thought 'verts always got the space saver spare?
