Ditto.

Factory specs were designed for skinny, hard, bias ply tires. Go with CP's recommnedations and you won't regret it.

Yes

Same for virtually any pre 89 RWD mopar with radials. I'd try to run at least .25 negative camber with radials.

Here's a question for you guys- where do you go to get your alignments?

Most of the places I've gone will only set the car up to factory specs, even after I mention to them that there aren't any factory parts on my car! I've found a place finally where the alignment guy is on board with -.5* for camber and 3* caster, but thats it. Are there any "chains" that will do this as a rule, or do you have to find a local race shop?

Sorry if this is a total thread jack, I agree with the other specs. -.25 to -.5* camber, as much caster as you can get, and 1/16" to 1/8" toe in for a street driver. More negative camber for corner warrior or anything that sees autoX or road track use.

I do my own with a tape measure & a level , one of the cars I set up has gonee 1000 miles without wearing the molding nubs off the tread of the front tires

For a lot of years I used a guy who was an oval track racer that ran his own shop, so he was more than willing to put whatever specs I wanted under a car. He retired a few years ago and I've since picked up a  caster/camber guage and turn plates to do my own. I've also got an infared thermometer to get readings on settings necessary for track days.

Definatly not something the local chain shop would be willing to do, unless you know the techs or manager well. I'd say ask the local SCCA or oval track guys about who they recommend. Most tracks have their own web sites anymore, so you could ask there.

Great advise. Thanks Chryco. Did a search here for alignment specs and came across this thread.  Just got back from the alignment shop. What a difference!!  I told them take the specs in the computer and throw them out the window. I then give him these specs. The guy doing it was older and loves working on the old cars. He laughed when I told him I wanted 4 - 5* Caster. Says you're not getting that out of an old Mopar.  Told him I installed the offset UCA bushings so he should get more than usual out of the car.

I wound up with:
Caster 4.0*
Camber -0.5*
Toe in 1/8"

The steering wheel is actually centered. The car goes down the road straight with no hands and corners like heck.  I also have Firm Feel level 3 box.

Of course on the print out the castor is in the red because the computer thinks it's wrong.  LOL

it definatly works , I set up 4c car a few years ago & we drove it for a couple of days , 4C didn`t trust the alignment & took it into a shop to have it "corrected" & 3 blocks later asked me to reset it to the way it was before the alignment LOL
