My trailer is a hitch type. I do use an equalizer though which makes a huge difference. I pull it with a 1/2 ton and have never had a problem doing it. If you go with a hitch type you MUST get an equalizer for it!!
i have the same trailer here with a 06 hemi 4 door 1500 . the trailer with a cuda in it is 7200 lbs 250 lbs of that is tools and swap stuff . the only thing i did was add double bubbles and 6 to 8 lbs of air and is just perfect but thats the limit . most of the time i haul a 1200 lb race car and 6 wheels and an extra front and rear axle another 600 lbs total 5200 lbs . no equalizer im a bit older than most here so i keep my hauling very simple if i crash out and left impaired my wife can load the race car and be off in less than 5 mins . the only reason we didnt go 5th wheel is the truck is my wifes driver its easy on gas and a fifth wheel is more in line with a 3/4 or one ton truck ,but is the only way i would haul a tall body trailer over 8000 lbs . :2cents:
