73 Chal window channel, what is supposed to be in here?
« on: July 13, 2009 - 06:32:38 AM »
I'm starting to get close to the magical moment when my car will have a windshield installed after 5 years of waiting and there are couple of weird holes on my windshield channel that need to be addressed. The places are marked with red arrows on the pic below. The top one about on the middle of the upper "lip" of the windshield channel had a screw and mayby a piece of somekind of clip on it when I removed the glass. It is located just next to the trim clip stud. The piece that the screw was holding was baddly rusted and probably missing pieces so it was kinda hard to recognize what it could have been.

Two other places are the left and right upper corner where seems to have been something attached. Atleast there is a hole on both sides. Now that I'm thinking, could it be that previous owners have twisted one trim clip stud off from both sides or is there supposed to be something held with a screw?

When the car came to me, the windshield trim was already removed.

Thanks for the help in advance!
