parts for the rear leafs?
« on: August 27, 2009 - 08:37:35 PM »
My 74 barracuda did not come with front and rear sway bars.I found a set at PST and the prices seem good.Only thing is that the car does not have the rear mounting plates for the rears and no mounting area on the front lower control arms.Any ideas or does anyone know where they sell them?? Also does anyone know about mounting pads for the rear leafs.I looked at my old springs it looks as though they have them and I know that PST sells them for 84.00 for 4 poly.Any one have any info on this ? Thanks Chris

The Hellwig front one comes with a bracket for the LCA. It dosent look as sturdy as the factory bracket which is welded on. I made a gusseted L bracket and welded it onto mine.

most rear bars mount differently to stock & mount on the diff housing & link onto the frame & come with all the mounts needed

Here is a link to where you can buy the brackets that are welded to the LCA's.

As far as the rears...you are going to have to find some brackets off of a parts car or go with the aftermarket bars that mount differently.

I would check with PST and verify if these come with the hardware to mount them to an OEM non bar equiped car. I'm willing to bet they do. The front control arm brackets are a simple tab that bolts under the shock in most cases. Like CP said, most rear aftermarket bars mount differently than stock, which is under the axle, in which case they  will come with all the necessary attaching stuff.
