    WWII Airplance Picture

    Over the last couple of weeks me an my son have gone to some local airports to check out some WWII planes.  I figure there are others here on the board who like old airplanes so I thought I would share them with you.  I will break it up into a couple of posts so as not to completely bog down the guys with slower connections.  First post is a B-17. Enjoy!

    Do you happen to have a pic of the tailgunners point of view by any chance? My grandfather was a tailgunner and I always wanted to see what it was like from that perspective.

    Unfortunely I don't.  If I recall correctly I don't think they let you go back in there.

    Have you been to the Pima Air Museum in Tucson? I've been intending to go to it for several years, but have never made it. :-\

    No not yet, but I have heard good things about it.  My son has been asking to go so i'm sure some time this year we will be making a trip to Tucson to see it.

    awesome pics, when i was young we used to visit chanute afb on a regular basis. always had fun acting like an enlisted, eating in the mess and sleeping in the barraks. the planes, and memorabilia on display were quite impressive to my 10 year old eye.
