Door Lock rods. Need pic.
« on: May 01, 2009 - 10:07:35 AM »
Hello.

The guy I bought my challenger from removed the door key locking rods. Yes, this means if you lock the car and close the doors you can't get back in.  Idiotic.  :screwy:  Anyways.... I cant find the rods that go to the key lock to the latch anywhere online so I will have to fabricate them.  Does anyone have any pictures of what these rods look like? It would help in my work.  Thanks.

RT Specialties sells the clips. I have seen the rods on E-Bay, although I didn't notice any today. Sorry I don't have a pic, but you need something thicker than a coat hanger if you want to fabricate your own. Those buggers aren't feel run to get in place.

I've found some 1/8" and 3/16" stainless steel rods at a hobby shop. I figure I can bend them into the appropriate shape on a vice with a hammer.   I considered not installing them at all, since I have a power lock kit for the car, but I decided against it. I did find the plastic clips on ebay, so thats real helpful.
