No spark????

  I have checked all the basics I can think of and still no spark on my 73 340 4 spd Challenger. I recently had it started after several years the previous owner had it setting. I substituted a new harness I had for my 70 440 (had to strech some wires but they reached) and still no spark. Is there a kill switch somewhere that I am unaware of??? Any ideas???

Maybe check your neutral safety switch?? Just a thought. Maybe let us know what you've already checked out, so we don't suggest it after you've already done it. Usually ends up being something simple we end up kicking ourselves for not looking!!

is the gap between the reluctor & Pick up too wide , it should be .008
have you checked the pick with an Ohm meter across the plug , it should have no resisitance
 do you have 12v at the blue wire to the ballast & ECU , , I assume the ballast is good , have to checked power to the coil ?, Is the ECU properly grounded ?

Like was said, what did you do already? There are lots of probable causes here. Wiring, ignition box, coil...

Are you saying it ran with the 73 harness and won't with the 70? Maybe something isn't connected to the right place?

also true the wire at the bulkhead are not in the same position year to year

Her are some of the other things I have tried. 3 differnt coil, 1 it ran with when I first had it started and have also used the coil off my 70 440 and 1 other. I have replaced the ECU with a new unit. Is there a neutral starting switch on a standard and if there is would it allow the engine to turn over? Used a brand new engine harness from my 440 (streched, but they all reached).
Gaped dist @ .006, .008 and .010. Bypassed alt gauge. bypassed resistor. Checked the power to pin 1-3 for voltage on ECU.

It ran with the 73 harness then stopped that's when I tried the 70 harness and still nothing.

I need to get an ohm meter, then how exactly do I check the pickup? I am sparky challenged

just check across the 2 connector plug into the dist & make sure there is continuity there

Have you checked your grounds? Make sure your battery ground is good and also your motor ground strap to the chassis.
