Quarter Turn Fasteners
« on: May 02, 2009 - 04:25:21 PM »
I need to replace a couple of quarter turn fasteners on my trunk deck.  I have been to Autozone and Home Depot and they don't even have an idea of what I'm talking about.  I know I can order them online, but that would be such a hassle.  Anyone have any ideas about any retail stores that might carry them?  Thanks.

I'd check with a local mom-n-pop hardware store.  If they don't have them, they can probably order them.  Tell them you want Dzus fasteners.

They also get used a lot in trucks and buses, so if you have a NAPA or some such around you that specializes or stocks heavy-duty truck parts, they may have them.  Also used a lot in aircraft.

Other than a local speed shop, ordering them was about your only option. They're a race item only.
Did you check the length? They're available in several different lengths. My last dragster used two different lengths depending on whether there were two overlapping panels or just one panel being fastened.
