Too bad a happy experience turned out to be so frustrating. The ggod thing is the seller is on board with you and they drove it onto the carrier. I made a guideline when I bought mine that it had to be e to pick up. Good luck

Hey Brad,
hows it going with your claim?
Ya know, this may be a stupid question, but after looking at the picture of the damage to the front valence, is that red primer under the green paint, or rust? If its rust that damage would have to be more than a few weeks old to look like that, but you gotta figure damage that noticeable would have been noted initially.

It's paint. The original color is burnt orange. They sent me a check for $400 to cover the valance, we are still "discussing" the rear end drive shaft, and tranny!
Trust me don't use them!!

Well, I think Im gonna go with
http://www.nationaltransportllc.com/

Their open carrier price is actually better than DAS since local pickup and dropoff, and "insurance" is included. Plus, for $400 more I'll think I'll splurge on the enclosed carrier.
Also, they claim 1-3 days to pick up, and about 4 days delivery time from the NE to Florida where I am. Thats about 5 days shorter than DAS quoted. Turns out I think they need those days to run your gas tank dry. :roflsmiley:
I'll let you know how they turn out.

Please do let us know how it goes.  We're going to be shipping a really nice Super Bee later this year, and would like to get the best possible service.  We're definitely going with an enclosed carrier.

I made the mistake of using "feebay's recommended shipper", DAS, when I bought a car in CA and had it shipped here to NC.

They chained the car down with hooks through the factory holes in the frame rails. FOUR GIANT RIPS in the virgin steel.

I filed a claim right away and they sent an adjuster pretty quickly. He was very cool and a "car guy". Told me that yes, they screwed up and would refund my whole shipping bill.

A week later, they sent a second adjuster who was a middle aged woman who looked like she just got off the street corner. She re-adjusted the claim and I only ended up with 2/3 back. She looked really dumb laying on the ground, under the car in a mini skirt!

Remember, the "D" stands for DISASTER! Or is it Dumb Ass Shippers?

It's tough guys. No matter what company you go with, they are probably sub-contracting work to local yokels with a trailer. Case in point, I went thru FedEx custom critical. FedEx, I thought I was dealing with THEM. Nope. I got my car delivered by a couple of good ole boys that were making their way East with another car. I had no problems...But this wasn't what I expected from a big company like FedEx. My car was sitting for a week or so before these guys even picked it up.
