Call Andy at Bonwitt Enterprises in Miami, FL.  He is a MOPAR gearhead who deals in all kinds of performance parts and can recommend and sell you an intake.  Tell him his Postal friend, Mike, recommended you call him - you might get a sweet deal.  His office number is (305) 251-8228.  If you can't reach him let me know via e-mail and I will show him this message.  Make sure I have some way of contacting you.

I just talked to Andy.  He recommends the Edelbrock Performer intake, number 7176.  He has it in stock and will sell it to you for less than $250, delivered.

No, the Performer has small 318 ports...I would run the stock intake before that one.

Why are you changing intakes?? You get more power by switching to headers and a holley carb...or just add headers.

:iagree:  I would get the performer rpm if you want a dual plane. Edelbrock LD340 is a good one too.

:iagree: This is a real no-brainer. If you drive the car in cold weather alot you want the RPM and not the RPM AG because it doesn't have manifold heat.

I'd look at the RPM, should be fine for your application and will be fine if you decide to go with a bigger cam too. The performer's aren't all that better than the stockers, although they weigh about half as much being aluminum vs cast iron.

As far as the RPM vs. the air gap, I'd consider the weather and the type of driving you do. I got an air-gap because I live in California, and because of the weather here the majority of the time I'm not worried about the car warming up, I'm worried about it being too warm. Not sure exactly, but I'm guessing its quite a bit colder up where you're at and you'd probably be better off with an RPM. Then again, if you don't drive when its cold you'd likely be fine with the air-gap, and in addition to keeping your fuel charge cooler they're a better manifold. They're also taller than the RPM though, so if you're running a flat hood it could be a problem, and it looks even less stock than the RPM does.
