Ewww....little bit o' rot...... how are the hinge areas?  :clueless: With the factory springs, that area will take a lot of pressure and if there is rot in that area it could fold up on it's self.

Unless you are getting it close to free, you are good at body work, and it is local, I would pass......  :2cents:

Wow, that is bad. Unles you are a purist and want an original era hood I say pass and buy a repod. hood because repairing that will will cost a lot more than the aftermarket one. If you decide to attempt to repair that one you will have to either chemically strip it or hand sand it to bare mental. I've heard a couple horror stories of guys attempting to sand blast a hood..................can you say WARP ?

About all I see good is the bulge. It could be cut off and welded to another hood like a Dodge ram to make a custom hood.   :2cents:

I wonder if the where the rot hole is, is that the correct location for hood pins?  :thinkerg:  That would be a quick fix for the hole.

Like I said, if it's close to free, close by, you are doing the work or even having it done for just a little bit of moolah, it might be worth it just for having some fun since you presently have a stock flat hood.....

:poopoke: ...... or you could get a shaker set up.........  :stirpot:

I could use the bulge area.  A previous owner cut mine open to install a cowl induction scoop, a la '70 Chevelle.  Mine is otherwise solid.
