340 dipstick length

i changed oil in the old girl the other day and after pouring in 7 litres the dipstick is reading 1/2'' under the add mark. i have an oversized pan but want to double check. can antone tell me a dipstick and dipstick tube lenght?

16 3/4 to the stop on the handle...tube 6 1/4 best I could tell

so that would make it 10.5'' in the block.
i have an aftermarket one and it is 11'' tube and 21 1/4'' dipstick, that would make it in the same ballpark, thankyou.
actually now that i thought about it, i should be asking how long the dipstick is to the add line?
