They are still putting a "market adjustment"
« on: July 10, 2009 - 04:18:48 PM »
 :swear:

I sold my 99 Firebird a couple of days ago in order to get a new 09 Chally.  I want a R/T.  The only one around was down at Southpoint Dodge in Austin.  I look it up on the web and its price is 36k.  Its silver with the black stripes which is eh in my book, but it is a 6 speed.  I get down there and take a look... I ask how much is it, the guy replies "43k", but the price on the web is 36k?  I get to the car and it is in fact 36k on the sticker, but right next to it is a red tag with 5k market adjustment and a 1.2k interior protection which you can't refuse.  They wouldn't even let me drive it out of the parking lot.  They said they had it for almost 50 days on the lot.  When they asked me to make an offer, I said I wasn't paying over sticker, he said that the 5k wasn't negotiable.  Wth?  Aren't they going bankrupt?  There were maybe 2 other people in the huge place that were customers and not employees and they are still playing these games.  Well I can wait and shop around.

I know it a bit of a distance, but it still would be cheaper.  FYI, you can buy a 2009 Challenger in Utah for sticker price.   :clapping:
1970 Plymouth 'Cuda.  Matching numbers 440 U Code, 4 speed pistol grip, Rallye dash, AM 8 Track, Shaker hood, 15 inch rallye wheels, Dana 60 4.10, Super Track Pak.  One of 134 - 440 "U" coupes codes built in 1970 and one of 100 - 440 Super Track Paks built in 1970.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Aren't they going bankrupt?

You know the dealer and Chrysler Corp. are two different entities, right? The corporation's finances have nothing to do with the dealers'.
