Non Ebody trans fluid leak

I know this is similar to a previous post but since I am leaking trans fluid while daily driving, I think its a different issue. I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty 3.7L that is leaking trans fluid where the prop shaft slides into the transmission. In the picture, you can see some fluid pooling on the black rubber piece. I assume there is some type of seal or gasket (possibly the red piece in the picture?) that needs to be replaced but I am not exactly sure what part I will need or how to replace it. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

That red ring is holding in the output shaft seal. That seal that you are seeing in the picture is likely just a dust boot for the 'real' seal that is behind it. Basically need to remove the driveshaft, pop the seal (red ring) out and tap a new seal in.

Do you know if any special tools would be needed or is it something I could do myself? Would adding transmission stop leak fluid be worth a shot?

It shouldn't be a very difficult repair. A seal remover, from any parts store would help. Stop leak is not going to help

Make sure the bushing is not worn out also. Seems like they are gonna be bad about wearing the rear bushing out.
