I have a really hard time believing that ALL 250M insured folks are SATISFIED with it.

If we went back to a Pre-Nixon system where there is NO insurance and we all pay "cash", theoretically prices would fall across the board. Alas, this will never happen.

WHY and WHEN did health care become a profit-making corporate business? Does anyone read, much less adhere to the Hypocratic oath? More like Hypocritic oath. Grow a conscience, eh?

My deductible with my current "insurance" is up to $2500. If I need an MRI, I pay the whole $1900. At that rate, I bet the C-suckers pay for the damn machine within six months of purchase. Most "regular" folks take 5-6 years to pay for their cars.

My doctor is an idiot. I'm lucky to get ten minutes with her for my co-pay. The one before her was a pill-pusher. "Specialists" are no better. It's all about the MONEY. Pharm. companies, medical equipment suppliers, hospitals, doctors and congresspeople are all getting rich while we PAY, PAY, PAY. Let's put the lobbyists in the hospital!   :swear:

Congress doesn't give a crap because they don't need insurance. WE pay 100% of their medical bills. NO co-pays, no worries. FOR LIFE.

Socialized health care? BRING IT ON. Taxes are here to stay no matter how many tea bags we send to our elected morons. Might as well get MY share.

I almost think maybe I should not bring this thread back to date, but I've been gone for a couple days, so......................... to begin with, eliminate the illegals from this number of uninsured, secondly families (in Ohio anyway) who are getting assistance (another name change from welfare) have a medical card, because of their income level that gives them health care as good if not better than employer available insurance. So they are yes personally uninsured because they do not pay for the coverage they currently receive. Now multiply this by each state, how many are still without health insurance?

And if the government gets involved it will encourage employers who at least pay part of your coverage to drop it in favor of the government paid insurance to ovoid their part of payments.  And lastly look at the national VA hospitals and coverage, they are deplorable, and make our vets and familys feel like pond scum the way they are hearded around looking for reasons not to care for them.  The VA hospitals alone ought to tell anyone, if the government is involved it will be a mess.

Canada has government paid health. In the US you wait 6 hours for a MRI, we wait 6 months. Our health care is so pathetic I urge you to not get it.

Also, I think we should DEMAND, that all members of government should be FORCED to use any socialized health care plan instituted by them, otherwise they will keep their cushy private plans while throwing the rest of us under the bus..

This is the key to stopping this health reform, MAKE THEM eat the crap they are trying to feed the public.
These "leaders" are no better than you or me, what makes them so privledged that they don't fall into the general publics standard of living. Who are THEY that think THEY know whats right or wrong for me and my family?
I own a small business and we have a small group insurance policy for our employees, we pay part of their preminums per month but of what I'm understanding in order to keep on these policys(if this healthcare plan go thru) I will have to pay 70% of their preminums and whatever the employees share will be after tax rather than before tax as it is now. So what company will be able to afford it !!!!!  :swear:

No offense intended or taken.....health care IS an important issue, as are which political party holds the power, inflation, deflation, recession, war, etc. but I come here for mostly the Mopar talk, I want to absorb all the info I can since I am deeply interested in restoring my '70 RT/SE 440-6. Maybe I have my account preferences set up wrong but I didn't go to the "Off-Topic" section. What I usually do when I log on to the forum is go to the "Show new replies to your posts" and/or "Show unread posts since last visit". In both there are just long lists of new posts, is there a way I can filter out the off-topics sections and other areas I am not interested in?

If ya do click on it by mistake, how much do you have to read to figure out what the topic is about and that you are not interested??   :roflsmiley:

Actually, I fall victim to reading topics I couldn't care less about sometimes.  It is hard not to.  Then it is just a matter of remembering that we are all friends here, (either owners of Cudas or those who wish they had the best!)   bound by the love of our cars.

My question is since when did health insurance become a right?  Health Care already is a right, afterall any hospital taking any federal money cannot turn you away if you need care.  That is why the poor use hospitals as clinics/doctors offices.  Health insurance costs everybody that has it big bucks and it raises the costs for the doctors and hospitals to "administer" the plan, so even if you do not have it, you pay.

Go to a doctor and tell him you do not have insurance, guess what happens.  They lower the price because it cuts all of the red tape.  Whenever a Doctor makes a claim to an insurance company, it costs his office money.  When the insurance company rejects the claim, it costs the Doc more money to refile the claim.  Then, the insurance company whacks the bill and pays what it deems to be a fair price.  All the while the insurance company is getting premiums from the patient as well.  Do you really think a gov't administered Health Plan will be any better.  HecK No!

And the best part, they are talking about taxing the health insurance premiums on those that do have it to pay for those that will be on the Gov't Plan!!  What ever happened to, "If you make less than $250K a year, you will not see a tax increase."  What the HE77 do you call this?  I call it a huge tax increase.  My premiums cost me $9600/year and now you want to tax them.  Where I come from that's called a $2800 tax INCREASE and I sure as heck do not make anywhere near $250K!

Bottom Line - they want you to rely on the gov't from cradle to grave and this is how they are going to do it.  Afterall this is what they are banking on - "why the heck should I pay over 12 grand a year for my family's health insurance plus Joe Blows?  I may as well get on the gov't plan, too."  Then guess what, the gov't will own you @ss!

And don't get me started on this Cap and Trade/Carbon Tax crap!  I might just blow a gasket and end up like certain famous people did last week...

1/6th of Americans do not have health care and who do you think pays for them when they do get rushed to the hospital-the people who do have health care absorb a lot of the costs.I doubt any new plan will work and decrease insurance costs which have risen like 50% in recent years I heard so who knows???A lot of people who now have health insurance can barely afford it b/c the weekly costs and deductibles are so high.

Look at California. Illegal immigrants cost them over 10 Billion annually for their Health care, schooling and incarceration. If we didn't have to pay for that and if there was some kind of Tort reform (another issue that GWB wanted but was shot down on) health care costs and property taxes would drop dramatically. That's why I laugh about the Dems wanting to implement health care reform. They have done nothing about the two most obvious problems and never will. They want the votes from any illegal that becomes a citizen and all their relatives and they are in the pockets of Trial lawyers who are 99% Democrat.

As far as a gov't run healthcare system, we ca make this comparison.....

Fed Ex and UPS make a profit each year......  Post Office does not.........
