Barracuda Body Styles
« on: July 04, 2009 - 10:09:03 PM »
For the 1971 Barracuda, I have always known of the BH23 and BH27 body style designations in the VIN, but I just noticed in an old 1987 Standard Catalog of American Cars 2nd edition lists a BH21 2-dr coupe in addition to the BH23 2-dr hardtop.  Was there a BH21?  How is it different than the BH23??

There were no 21's in E-body world. Even the fixed window coupes were BH23's.

Don't forget the BS's and BP's.

I have been wrong before but I think thats a typo. I have never heard anything about a BH21 or JH21.......ever.

For 1971, BH21 & JH21 were the order codes for the A93 Coupes. Insert either code onto a 1971 dealership order blank & the car was built as a BH23 or JH23 car with the A93 group code.  ;)
