Wow,,,,,,,and  WOW!.    And I thought my friends $750, which included the Top and labor was high.  It might just end up being a good price after all.
Top with glass...the right material is around $300
Cant kill the mean and ugly. Only the good die young...I plan to be here a while!!

It pays to shop around -- and go to car shows......   and especially to get advice.     I was visiting with some guys at a local car show over the weekend and they turned me on to a guy about 2 hours from here (in New Hampshire).   He did their tops and they looked teriffic.    I called and if I supplied the top - labor was $500.    Now that's pretty reasonable in my book (especially compared to the $2,500 plus quote I got from a local "restorer."

I got mine in 1982. it was my daily driver until 1992.  I took it apart in 1993 and had it back on the road for the first time this year.

Well..... got the new top installed.   Top & backglass from YR1 was over $400 (shipping, as usual was crazy) and I found a guy to install it for $500 (including pads).....   he did a nice job overall -- and it took him about 12 hours......

My 71 Cuda, 383, 4-speed, rallye red, black top, interior and billboards. Need to get back to work on it. Hasn't been touched in years  :violin: :-[. Nice car though, no rust (including trunk and floorboards), never wrecked, all original body panels and 2 correct broadcast sheets.
