Newbi with a 1973 Barracuda 340 and 75 Dart Sport 440
« on: July 09, 2009 - 02:50:05 PM »
Hi all,

My name is Brian and I am hailing from the Miami Valley of Ohio (north of Dayton).  Just picked up a 73 Plymouth Barracuda 340 numbers matching all original car today.  Needs restored but it is all complete.  May have questions for you all as I go on this resto.

Best I can tell this car may be 1 of 621 produced in 73??  It has the full vinyl top, rocker moulding, body side moulding, wheel opening trim, HD suspension, 3.23 open rear, front/rear sway bars, power steering, power disc brakes, TB3 Basin Street Blue, black interior and standard instrument panel with column shift and bucket seats.  No console.  Ohhh.....and it also has the F78x14 standard wheels with the optional hubcaps.

This car was sold at a dealership locally in 73 and stayed here in town the entire time until I picked it up today.  Have fender tag, broadcast sheets and matching numbers on powertrain.

Thanks,

Brian

Wow - sounds like a nice find.  Welcome to the site.  As you'll soon find out, we love pictures around here.  Please show us both the Barracuda and the Dart Sport.  Because anyone will tell you:

:swaying:  Welcome to the forum and congrats on your '73 Barracuda!  Sounds like a slightly rare fish to me with the options you listed.

Does anybody here know what that little torn piece of steel tag is in the upper left corner of the fender tag, beneath the existig tag?  Is that what remains of a second tag that the dealer removed during receipt of the car?

I see a lot of nice looking E-body rides on this site!! I have perused the site before, but I have been mostly A and C body owner in the past 25 years.  Although I have done bodywork/paint on a quite a few E-bod's, this is the first one I have owned.  I have some pics of my Dart Sport 440 at http://www.brianredick.com.  Site is still being reworked so be patient!! :)
