Hi guys - new to the site, but frequent poster on some other Mopar forums. I've hear a lot about this place, so I wanted to join the fun!
My Dad bought his first car - 1968 Charger - when it was new. Well, after the early eighties, the car was parked, and basically sat throughout my entire childhood. When I graduated high school in '95, my Dad sent it out to have the body worked and painted. After that, it sat in the driveway unfinished. i finally decided to take on the project myself. Other than the paint, I restored the entire vehicle - engine, suspension, interior, trim, modifications, etc. After running for a few years and less than a few thousand miles, I decided to re-build the motor with some more power
Now it's 10.5:1 CR, Alluminum heads, Big carb, bigger cam from Hughes, roller rockers, etc. - should net me around 525hp or so at the crank. I'm just now wrapping that up and should be driving her again within the next few weeks.
I forgot to mention - when I graduated in '95, I also bought my first car - 69 Superbee. Older resto, but the car was in real nice shape. After 2 years, I was forced to sell, but I vowed to by another when I bought my first house - and that's exactly what I did. I drove up to Michigan to pick up my second Superbee not more than a month or so into owning a new house (about 5 years ago). That Bee is still a project.
I have since moved into my second home, and aquired a couple more cars - a 71 Demon, and a 73 Barracuda. Both are projects. The Cuda will get a nicely worked 340, while the Demon will get a hot 360 - both in the 500hp range.
I also have a 68 Dart on the side of my house that was supposed to be a big block project, but I just sold it this month, and the guy is picking it up in the next few weeks - sorry, had to fund the Edelbrock heads and Demon carb for my Charger.
