« on: July 03, 2009 - 12:21:09 AM »
Got some oil coming out the dipstick, mostly at higher revs. OIL Levels ok(not over fill), i had changed my valve covers when this prob appeared the new ones are a tad higher, baffles in the oil openings.got my
pcv going to base of carb i just grab a pcv of the shelf that would fit my grommet and working (could this be the issue), breather style cover on opposite side.PCV is at the rear passenger side, breather type cover at front on drivers side. Any imput Appriciated. Thxs

If your PCV valve is hooked up and working you might have some internal problems with your engine. Pull the PCV off the valve cover while it's idling and make sure it's sucking with your finger, and that there isn't excessive smoke coming out of the valve cover hole when it's hot and running. If there is you need to do a leakdown test on the motor cause you have a major problem.

Don't know much about this, but I have the pcv on the driver side and breather on the pass. side. As per Mopar Performance A-engine book. Oil out of the dipsitck would mean you have pressure in the oilpan or crankcase. Agree with the above about the leakdown test.

There is only some oil, a few ounces coming out the dipstick tube only at high revs, yes i was aware of the driver side  position of the PCV,would that make a difference with eng rotation etc , the pcv working ok, no smoke coming out valve cover hole with eng warm-up, oil pressure always 70-75 lbs on start up, hot 25-30lbs at idle, mechanical gauge.

Maybe your dipstick is just not sealing to the tube.

I was hoping my problem was something simple. 71chally416 beleive you hit the nail on the head ,didn't do a leak down test yet,i will post when i do , hopefully its just broken ring. still good oil press, no foaming or coolant, runs and sound good.
