66 Plymouth Tach ??
« on: August 19, 2009 - 02:27:22 AM »
You around John Mac or anyone else know ,
I was wiring in the factory tach that mounts on the console , I believe the Tach works ok as I got it to make a full sweep but the module that feeds the tack the signal is definatly cooked , 1 wire to the coil has fried off & 2 resistors are burned black inside , is there a schematic to tell us wht resistor value to replace if the coil is any good at all still or will the MAD tach adapter work to replace this unit .
 Any help would be appreciated
Neil

Check with Mike at Auto Instruments.  I just went through the same problem with him in rebuilding a 66 Charger cluster.  The tach sending unit (the puck shaped part that mounts up under the glove box) appeared to be bad, but he does have a source to get the parts to repair them.
