340 Carburetor Suggestion
« on: July 09, 2009 - 02:32:27 PM »
Is an Edelbrock 750 to much for a basic (that i know of) 340? What would be a reliable size and brand?

I would use a 700-750 on a 340 , my personal preference is the Proform or Holley 82751
the Eddey carb will work butis not nearly as adjustable

well you get what you pay for , I would save my allowance until I can afford a good one rather than buy a cheap one & spend more when you are disappointed

This should dispel the myth that a 750 is "too big" for a 340 and make your carb choice a real no-brainer.

Great article. That progressive build sequence was how most of us did it back in the day. Usually it was a matter of "as money became available".

I've been running a 650 DP for many years now but may consider a 750 after reading that.

I am not so much a fan of the Vacuum secondary carbs but yes it is a decent buy price wise on a decent carb

I run a 750 on my 340 and it likes it.  I need to tune on it some, but I've got it pretty close right now.
