Yeah, too far for a road trip really...LOL

You have been a lot of help though online, with ideas, as has everyone.

Keep them coming!

If anyone reading this is in the Pittsburgh, PA area and has a minute to check out my car and brainstorm a bit, give me a shout/PM!

what happens when you drive the car? How is the power? What you expected or not at all? Did you check the float levels in the carb yet? What vacuum port is the gage on? Where are you located?

The car actually drives fine ....bottom end could eb stronger, but I have 2.76 gears....and if it has a cam i would expect a loss of some low end assuming the person picked an agressive "racing" cam....

When I hit it, it goes pretty good, I think...EXCEPT when it backfires, farts, coughs, which is not all the time! That is the issue I am chasing down with all of this...

I am near Pittsburgh, PA...........where are you?

:screwy: Boy is the combonation of these two threads getting confusing or what.  If the engine starts to backfire and all when it is hot only, and with an erratic vacuum reading I would suggest that the valves are too tight in the head and sticking slightly. This would hang the valves open.Buuuuuut, the stalling intermittently when hot would seem to be a primary ignition problem. Two completely different problems.  :clueless:
If I cant fix it, it's broke

I am not sure where I am as far as updating, so here goes --   Driove the car to a cruise tuesday night and had driven it a bit on sunday......no issues either time.....

Hopefully headed to a cruise tonight if the weather holds, so crossing my fingers.

All I can do is wait and see I guess.

Thanks for the thought as far as coming over if you could...I appreciate that and I have no doubt you guys would........I just hope you guys (everyone) doent mind my posting questions and thoughts so much on this stuff.....sometimes it just helps to put down your thoughts in writing...and then whe nfolks chime in with suggestions, its a ton of help!   :2thumbs:

That's why we're all here... I had a friend that drove his car over Sunday for a quick drive just to make sure what he was feeling was ok or needed to be addressed. Like you say, it's sometimes theraputic to just get some ideas on "paper".

Exactly!

Even if there are 10 different opions on the potential cause of an issue, it at least helps lead me to lookin gfor causes....although sometimes its easy to get too involved and then EVERYTHING looks wrong.....LOL

Rained tonight so no car cruise.... :stomp:...i was looking forward to it all day, too.
