Correct throttle bracket for 4 barrel?
« on: July 28, 2009 - 01:54:31 PM »
 :clueless:

As I was assembling my throttle linkage assembly, my friend came over to give me a few pointers. I greatly appreciate and respect his advice. He knows the ins and outs of these Challengers so well it truly blows my mind.

One thing he pointed out to me that I need to correct is the throttle linkage bracket.
The one I have in the car is correct for the 2Barrel carb, but not the four.
It seems like the throttle cable would bind, as it is agled to far over. It appears as though I need this:
I found a picture of the 4bb bracket ....

I see there is a special adapter kit from Buchillion performance, but I am not quite sure if that is the ticket.

Anyone ever used this kit? Does this kit adapt a 2bb toa 4bb throttle linkage?

This is one that I have: (2bb)

I don`t know which carb you have but both Eddy & Holley make a linkage adapter for mopar applications the Holley part # is 20-7
the bracket from Mega parts should work but Mancinis also has brakets to adapt for the 4 bbl

Challenger - You`ll wish You Hadn`t

Thanks chryco, I figured someone would have something close by.
I don't like the adjustable ones. I thought mancinis only sold those.  :dunno:
I just think I should do the 4 barrel bracket.
I have the edelbrock performer2 intake, and 690cfm carb ..

I'm thinking the same thing you are.

My only problem is taking the time to get to a good yard, pull one off, blast it clean...

I'll be in it far deeper than the time I have left.. :banghead:

I might just spend the money and get it ASAP. Wish I would have known ahead of time.
I could make it work if I knew how the 340 shift/kickdown linkage worked.
