New Super Victor Small block intake, anyone using it?
« on: August 04, 2009 - 09:28:24 PM »
I know they aren't really that new but is anyone using this intake? How much different is it from the regular Victor? Is it taller? You can't really tell anything from looking at pics online.

I have the regular Vic on my 416. I think that the "Super" Vic just has more metal cast for porting than the regular Vic but shares the same internal core and RPM range. The regular Vic though has plenty of metal around the ports for any stock head based ported head or in my case the big port Commandos. This is mine with port matching in progress.

I have a Super Victor EFI small block manifold sitting in a box for my EFI conversion.  Besides the rail mounts and injector bungs it is the same as the carb version.  It is pretty tall, if throttle bodies weren't shorter than they are I doubt my hood would close.  It's going to be close.  No way it'd fit with a carb.  It has one less hole in the water jackets.  I also noticed that the inner ports are slightly smaller, my guess is they assume anybody running this will take advantage of the extra material and port it out anyways.

i do plan on using it on a 416 stroker so I am looking for an intake that will allow a lot of porting. I also plan on using the TA hood so hopefully clearance won't be an issue. What hood are you using quagmire?

The stock R/T hood.  My current combo is a RPM Air Gap with an 800cfm Thunder AVS.  With the Mopar air cleaner, it is very close.  On hard accel I'm pretty sure it contacts since it seems to have spun around, the logo is always in a different position.  The Super Victor is at least an inch taller FYI.  With the EFI throttle body I should be okay, I can always run a cold air set up too.

My Vic with a Demon carb, a 1" spacer and a drop-base air filter fits under a stock R/T hood.
