I was under the impression that the kickdown linkage should be "all the way back" when the carb is at full throttle.
Well, I have it set there and find that the tranny wants to stay in second whiledriving at like 30-35...have to go 40 or so for it to shift out....also, when starting from a stop, it will shift thru 2nd but to get to 3rd you have to back off the gas some and then it will shift into 3rd.
When the kickdown was adjusted too loose it was hard to get it to drop to 2nd when you step on it.....now, it wanstt o jump into second REALLY easy...too easy....and stay there.
Can I back off of the kickdown some without hurting anything?
