Anyone use Stainless steel braided flex hoses
« on: August 09, 2009 - 06:35:38 PM »
Hi!
While installing my exhaust I noticed the flex lines look a little "iffy" so I want to replace them. After spending all the funds I have I'm not going to chance it. I'm thinking I might as well go for stainless flex lines. Who makes them and how much?
Thanks Brad

You can try these guys. I don't know how expensive they are. www.stopflex.com they are supposed to be a good company. Maybe someone will chime in that has used their products! Good luck!!

Another company that has been around forever (again, I''ve not used these guys) and also supposed to be very reliable is Inline-Tube. The web site is www.inlinetube.com:2thumbs:

I had the local Oreilly's Auto Parts  order Russel braided brake hoses...Cost was about the same as the e-stores & tax was less than shipping.

Wow great guys Thanks! :2thumbs: I have upgraded to the big rotors so would I ask for a 73-74 kit? Or does it matter? My 70 came with 73-74 spindles and disc brakes. They are pin type calipers , but I don't know if the brake line flex hoses were the same 70-74? I looked at the Russell link and they list a 69 Challenger??? but no 73-74?
Thanks Brad

Look again they do list 70-72 Challenger pn 694050 ...sometime in '72 or at least by '73 the rear brake setup changed to a hose with distribution block made onto it...  The fronts for disk brakes are the same.
Remember I was looking for a block to go on my '73.

I'll have to look at my rear ( that's the one that needs replacing) hose , I can't remember if it screws into the distribution block or if it is crimped on to it. ( one piece)
