You've got to love the seam sealer that was used in these cars! Over the years, it cracks and traps water.
In my case, there was a little bit of rot poking through the tail panel at the lower corners of the license plate area. I figured I cut things apart so that I can do a proper repair. I'm glad I did. As you can see, the rot is more extensive than I thought it would be. No problems. I'll weld in all new metal and you won't be able to tell there was rot in the area.
