I've been searching and CC confirmed what I thought these connectors are under the dash. I'll be using these for the radio...as soon as I find out what the radio leads are!!

also there are 3 triple plugs under the dash that use the bullet connectors , if I remeber right the yellow plug is constant power , the red plug is switched power & the orange is dash lights , all of these are there specifically to add accories or extra circuits ... too bad stereo installers never figure that out instead of just hacking into the harnesses

If you pop the cover on the radio, it should be fairly easy to figure out. One is for the light bulb in the bezel, that is fed by your dash lights. One is power, then there are the left and right speaker wires. Or just one speaker wire going to the center speaker.

if you look close there is a T connector behind the dash that is for the radio , the T connector & the radio will have 1 orange wire for the lighting & 1 red wire for power , as well as a double connector with the 2 green wires for the speaker

Use the 'T' connector that Chryco mentioned and you won't need to.

Chryco, you're right, two wires to the speaker. I should have dug my radio out of the bottom of the parts pile and checked before I posted.

:banghead:  When I tested the orange wire, it checked 0 for power but showed continuity when I tried it to ground.....I assumed it was a ground for the radio..... :clueless:

If that is supposed to be power , could explain why I had troubles using it as ground with my new radio.....

But like I said, no power there....and my dash lights etc do work fine.

The radio ground is through the mounting screws to body ground. If there is no power on that connector then you probably have a blown fuse. I can't remember for sure but I think it is the same fuse for the back-up lights (don't have my service manual diagrams handy). See if they work, if they don't, it's the fuse, if they do then the wiring to the 'T' connector is suspect.

Just checked. The radio and back up lights are the same fuse. Your turn signals work off a connection from that same 'T' connector. Check your B-up lights. To check for 12vdc at the 'T' connector, with the ignition sw. on, place  one meter lead on ground and stick the other one in the 'T' connector that corresponds to the red wire.
