Did it spin a bearing?   I always wondered what happens when a chassis dyno failure happens, what it could do to your vehicle. The momentum of that tire drum justs keeps going doesnt it?

actually my experience is the opposite generally you can see the problem & minimize the damage on a dyno as opposed to have it let go on the street , he knew immediatly he had a fire , not nessisarily true if he was driving it

Does the angle the car sitting at look really low. Probably no oil to the pan. :faint:

It seems to me that the chassis dyno puts a different load on the drivetrain and makes failures happen then when driving normally.

the dyno jet can only measure inertia / acceleration , the Mustang Dynos can hold a steady load & simulate anything from a full 1/4 mile pull through the gears to stedy cruise at any MPH , I use a mustang a lot for dialing in tuning

I saw the same happen to a charger overhere last year...  the trans exploded and pieces came right through the floorboards.  I`ll dyno my engine, but never the car ...
