tail panel letters

whats hold the letters on the tail panel of a 72 ? the body man put plastic sleeves on but they are cracking and breakin off letting the letters fall out.  A letter basically fell out the other day when i was washing the car..... does anyone use those self starting speed nuts like the ones that hold the metal trim piece on the door panel?

THey use a nut like this.

I just did a search for "emblem nut" so I'd make sure that is the correct one for the application before ordering.

My '73 had the plastic push in retainers that were pink.. I've been eying some at the hardware store but I think their too small... I've been meaning to try some barrel nuts like holds the hood callouts on. Will report back in a day or two.

What about the hood letters?  Did they use the nuts I posted?

those pink clip is what the body man put on it about 4 months ago and now they are all cracked and busted looking and te letters are loose i think i will try my luck with somethin that screws on to the post that way it cant jus pull out and fall off going down the road thanks!!
