A833 Clutch Kit Recommendations?
« on: July 11, 2009 - 11:27:09 AM »
Getting ready to order a clutch kit for my 340 6-Pak.  Any recommendations on mfr. and model?  Should I replace the throw-out bearing or can I check to see if it needs it first?

Bushing or needle bearings for pilot?

For street use, will a Mc Leod 75109 clutch & pressure plate kit work well for my AAR?

Centerforce aor any diaphram style clutch will stick to the floor while power shifting.
Just happened to a friend of mine. He says he always shifted and drove it hard with no problems. We had a BBQ with all of our Mopar friends and many were doing burnouts in the street. He just watched and didn't want to "tear up" his car.

When he leaves, he can't help but punch it in 1st gear, then hit second. Guess what? Pedal stayed on the floor when he lifted his foot and at the same time the gas pedal got pushed in hard.    I yelled "Chevy Clutch"

Are all Centerforce clutches diaphram type?

Don't know unless you ask Centerforce themselves. You can tell it is a diaphram style if it has the small release fingers all the way around the center.

the kit you are looking at is just another Diaphragm clutch
 I would use a 360953 or 954 PP with a 260821 disc
