Help with parking light gremlins
« on: September 11, 2009 - 09:40:52 AM »
I have a 72 Sebring.
The right marker lights do not work , and the right front signal light park light does not work , But the signal light flashes. Thats OK.
The left side all work. Headlights and tail lights all work.
So far I have checked and replaced all the bulbs.
Any suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

generally it is a ground issue , make sure the front light has a ground through the new paint
the side lights usually have a ground wires that may not have been reconnected or check the bulb condition
I assume you have been in contact with Weatherford ?

That was it Neil Thanks.
All are working now except the Right Front marker light.
I will try to trace from which point in the wireing it goes dead.

Fred,

If the wiring on your Sebring is anything like the wiring on my Challenger, then that wiring to the side marker lights up front is exposed to the elements. If this isn't a grounding issue, you wires could also be dry rotted. That's a weak guess, but when I replaced my wiring harness up front for the lights, everything got better in my life.

Thanks for the reply Mike.
The front park light was a grounding issue. As for the front right marker light.
Thats what it is looking like now. I peeled off the black electrical tape to reach the wires.
The black electrical tape flaked off and the wires are very brittle.
