Mine dose not have that notch.  It does have the jack notch though.  :clueless:  :banghead:

I am pretty sure my bumper is original.  I played with the brackets some today, and I could bend them to work.  When you mount the lights on the brackets, while they are off the car, the trim rings hits the brackets.  So they for sure need to be bent down.  Then the peice that goes against the bumper would need to be bent about 3/4 of an inch, and the bracket that goes against the bumper bracket need to be bent about a 1/2 inch.

Can some one post some pictures of an original road lamps?

I just went out and looked at my car bumper. It has a long notch like the picture kenny posted.  These are my 70 bumpers that were rechromed with help from Stephens performance.  As you know, mine is a 70 barracuda also, and was made in Ca around august 9th 1969

Thanks Alan.  That makes me think that my bumper may not be a 70 then.  :dunno:

I could always cut/notch this one, or maybe se if 71 brackets would work.

Why is it that the simplest things always give you the most problems?  :banghead:  :banghead:  :stomp:

well your not alone, mine are also pointing down but not quaite as mucho.and i had to hm use a little of violence to bolt the brackets up to the bumper,i will bend mine after i have bought the rest of the missing harness.my brackets came from year-1  and my bumper is original -70.that picture hemiken show, dont you think it might be a rubber bumper,i think they have a different cutout.at least i THINK 70 rubber bumpers has a wider cutout than -71,maybe the crome bumpers are different to,or maybe not.hmm

Swere-cuda,

my brackets came from year-1 as well. The bumpers I see for 70-71 are the same.  Maybe there where different manufactures of bumpers as Alan’s are stock and I am sure mine are too.
