I made you one, tell me if you want it. If so, send me your address in a PM. Can't do it unless you try.

This is what the spring looks like installed:

One of the top hook:

This is my old 70 parking brake assembly. It didn't use a spring.

It held when I cranked the parking brake lever many times. I'll send it out Tuesday.

Rob,

Wanted to update on the e-brake spring.

Man, you are awesome!  I found the right hole in the pedal arm (I think) , and it went right in.

With just a little cleaning and adjusting of the cables, I now have a functioning e-brake!

I was really expecting more of a problem...like frozen cables or something.

They all work!   :woohoo: :bananasmi

I also took the opportunity to route them ABOVE the exhaust as they should be.....

Wish all the projects in this car were this easy and succesful!

Thanks again man! Hey, you should go into business making reproduction springs! LOL

More like the I'll Show You state

Yeah, or the "Show me why not" state

I see a few people on here making up parts and I love it.  Over in the UK we do it quite a bit as we can't just go down the road for stuff.

I remember one guy melted down Mazak alloy from a lawnmower carburretor or something and used it to cast a new steering column interlock for his '70 Fury.

That is how business get started. I don't go that far but there are many thinkers and doers out there.
