Well, I filled in the advance slots with epoxy, and have rebuilt the dizzy (see other post).

Only had to pull it out once after the intial epoxying for fine tuning.  I now have the timing sent at 18* initial, and 34* total, all in by 3000.  Car idles nice and lumpy at 700 rpm in drive.

The car runs better, spins the tires a bit from a dead stop (does not light them up, but I was not expecting it to). :burnout:

I am gong to back the timing down to 16* initial, seems to have a hard time starting.  That should put the total at 32*, right within spec.

Next steps, working on the carb, works great when you go WOT, no hesitation at all from a dead stop (that took some tuning), but seems to have a dead spot when you go very light throtle from a stop light.  I am going to try and balance the idle a bit between the primary and secondary side. It is running on the idle circuit, but may not be runing on the primary side enough.  Then I will sort out the vacume advance.  I will post again on the changes.

I love vacation (besides the painting our bedroom and sleeping on the couch the last 3 nights).
