The Thunder Series is a great line of carbs. DUe to design differences, the Carter design is more tunable by a hobbyist than most Holleys, and many Holley clones. But, it tkaes knowledge of how everythign works and patience to get it. But in terms of power and over all performance, IMO the Carter will do better on any engine that is multi-use once properly tuned.

We bolted a EPS 800cfm ED carb onto a customers 440 bracket engine a few years back, replacing a strip jetted 850 DP. It made within 5HP of the Holley right out of the box. :dunno:
Once we had Ronald Reagan, Bob Hope & Johnny Cash. Now we have Obama, No Hope and No Cash!
