Rattle
« on: September 05, 2009 - 09:17:13 PM »
I'm getting a rattle from the bell housing area . It happens right at 3500 RPM's every time . It stops if I push the clutch in . Everything is new . I haven't dropped the bell cover to look for the problem yet , hopefully Monday . I wonder if it is the trow out bearing (not a bad bearing , rattle) ? I tried picking up the peddle with my foot but the noise did not change . All I can think of is the bearing vibrating against the pressure plate arms , but then why wouldn't it stop when I picked up on the peddle . Any ideas are more then welcome . Clutch is not slipping and I do not think it is major . :working:

do you have a spring on the release lever to a load on it , it hooks the lever & the corner of the belhousing

Do you have a bushing or pilot bearing installed in the back of ther crank for the input shaft in the trans?  Is your trans gear oil level low?

There is a notch in the fork where the spring should be.
