92 daytona Iroc
« on: August 29, 2009 - 10:06:26 PM »
I bought this car with the idea of making it my daily driver.
The car sat on jack stands in a guys garage for 4 years,he did the body work and paint, still needs a couple of things painted(couple of the ground effects pieces)he repaired all rust, scraped the underside and used POR15 on the whole underside.Still needs a front end alignment and some other odds and ends finished up,but is complete.
It's a real Daytona Iroc non turbo 3.0 V6 5spd runs great and drives great.Just did a complete brake job on it,has new struts, springs and shocks.I also have a brand new decal set for it.It also has the leather agate interior with the executive driver seat, rear wiper, sunroof, short throw shifter, power everything.I am close to finishing this car and feel its way to nice to abuse up here in New England thru the winter. The engine has around 140000 on it and holds good pressure on the coolant side.I know these cars aren't real popular, but being as nice as it is?do you think $3000 is asking to much? Thanks for any input-Doug

Sorry...I have no idea what those are worth but I just have to comment.

I love those cars.  A good friend of mine bought a red one when we were in college.  He traded a 93 Laser for it.  The Laser was a non turbo 2.0L auto car but it was maroon with gold wheels...very cool looking car too.  The red car was a V6 5-speed with gray leather.

Shortly after he bought that car...another one of our friends traded his 4 cylinder 89 Mustang for a white 92 IROC.  That was also a V6 5-speed car but was very special in a few different ways.  The white car had red leather interior witch is very rare.  It also came with a factory CD player.  Also, very rare in a Daytona in 92.  Finally there was a plaque in the engine compartment that said "PVP Pilot."  I had my buddy call Galen Govier just to see if he knew anything about the car.  Galen said that he did have info on that car and that it was the very first 92 Daytona built.  He said that there were 3 "Pilot" cars.  My buddies was the first and the second was a 2.5 turbo car that(at the time) was located in Florida.  I don't know about the third car.

The car was his daily driver...back and forth from school.  Finally one day 5th gear went out of it.  He sold the car to my other friend that used to own the red IROC.  He drove the car without 5th gear for a while and ended up selling it.  The last time we saw the white car, it was for sale on E-bay.  It was pretty rusty by that time.  I'm sure it has been crushed by now.

That really had nothing to do with your car but I just like telling that story.

Well, I talked to my friend that origonally bought the car last night.  He said he didn't take a single pic of that car. :dunno: :clueless: :screwy:  He did say that the red interior was one of the coolest things he has ever seen though.

I'll get ahold of my other friend that bought it and see what he can come up with.

Until I find out if there are any pics of this car, here are a couple things I found online.

Doug, I think your price is reasonable for that car.  So what's the story on the first gen. Stealth R/T TT next to it? :naughty:
1973 Dodge Challenger......................The ongoing project. (00/----\00)
1991 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin-Turbo....The sunny day cruiser (RTBoost)
1990 Toyota Celica GT Liftback...........The new daily & winter driver.
All-American Muscle: 'Cudas and Challengers...Still the Elite and always will be.
