parking light
« on: September 08, 2009 - 10:48:24 AM »
hi,
probably this sounds like a stupid question, but I didn't find any answer so far.   Basically I would like to know what should happen when the light switch is in the first position ("parking light").  At moment I have no any reaction from my front and rear lights, but I assume that something should happen.

thanks.

Front and rear parking lights, and also the side marker lights should be on.

That is correct.  Side Marker Lights are on the drivers/passanges front and rear feneders.

All of your dash lights should be on too.

I had a problem once in 81 where I pulled my battery out while my car was running with my lights and lowbeams on. Running without a battery causes the charging system to go CRAZY.  Blew every light that was on inlucing my radio. I think I counted 14 lights.   Had to drive home with high beams and a dark car.

Hopefully your is just a fuse. Get a test light on your LOWER LEFT fuse and touch it to the fuse then the holder metal. I've seen some where you have to sand the holder sides to get clean metal to touch the fuse.

My problem is to modify the lights behavior to fit with the requirements of Italian vehicle registration office.

Basically the front parking lights have to be separated from the front turning lights and they have to be "white"  (no amber or red),

I don't want to change the stock looking of my car, so I'm wondering if a beam light with 2 lamps does exist (one lamp for the beam and the other for the parking light).   Including the parking light in the beam should be a smart way to fix the issue.

have you other ideas ?

are you planning on going back to stock setup after registration?  If so ,I`d just go get a couple of lights from any euro car that has 2 lights in there and "Mc.gyver" it in there...
