My rod went limp, any suggestions? IT's FIXED (Thx Farmertan)

Hey in all fairness I think 13 of them had more to do with a limp rod than tightning a loose screw.

If all else fails let me know, I bought a grab bag of stuff from the engineers (brooks) and it came w/the mirror mount and post, I dont need it mine is mint, they need polishing real bad but the retainer plate on the back side of the mount looks real good.If you want to try a different retainer plate just let me know and there yours.

I wrecked that car by hitting a half a dozen 6" round trees and knocking them over.

Wanted to update my progress,  thanks to the generous offer from Farmertan.  I was able to put it back together.
I ended up painting it gun-metal grey.  It actually looks better than the pics.  You don't even notice it's there, just blends in with the black headliner and visors.
