If you get all the accessories with the motor you will need
Motor mounts 150
Factory ecm 800 retuned to run on the
Custom harness 200-500
Oil pan 500
Hoses and stuff 1000 little things you know.
Transmission ?
fuel pump 200 out of tank 800 in tank w\new tank

You can spend more for better stuff like the ecm(aem is 2k or fast) new gauges

I would budget 5k after you ge the motor

Well he wants 3500 for the motor and its got 53000 miles on it and i heard it run..he said take what i need..so with that being said about 9500 to 10,000 then to do the swap..cause i got to have a trans and drive shaft, headers and what all you was saying...and i bet i cant use the power steering,or the ac either?i may go ahead and put a 426 hemi in it before i spend that much..i love the new ones but 10,000 in a install on a motor thats got 50,000 miles..i was hoping around 7000...but if you wanna play you got to pay...well thx for the info..im going to rethink this cause i would have to try to figure all the stuff out too,its not like im bolting in a 426 hemi with holleys on it... :-\

I ran the numbers before and have a complete breakdown on what you will need for the conversion somewhere and the total was just over $10k including the engine.

The 426 would be even more money...
70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....

Yea a little more but i woundnt have to fight with the install, and i have a bb trans in the car and drive shaft, also good friend has a nice set of headers he wants to trade for rear i know the hemis dad ran them for years,so i could put a hemi in the car and be driving by the evening..no fuel pump upgrade,no ecu,no harness, just put in and go..and if i did start to sell i think it would bring more money with the 426 hemi, than the 6.1. my father in law got me excited when he called and said he had one..so i was like,a couple of thousand dollars and have a 6.1 hemi.. :ylsuper:then i came on here :nono:so i was like crap...but anymore help or ideas would be great,i just dont want to get to the point where im setting with 14,000 in a 6.1 motor and cant get it to run right, when i could have got 426 thats all im saying..i was looking at trying to save some money and have a new motor is what it comes down to..

If you could get a complete 426 that is in known good condition it could work out ok, but if you have to do work on the 426, it's big big $$. Check topcat's thread in the resto section on his hemi.
