Jack stand placement
« on: November 28, 2008 - 10:25:23 AM »
Hey guys, will be putting my car on jackstands here pretty quick.  Question is, I have four, where should they be placed?  Just wondering if one place is better than the other.  Thanks.

I usually go underr the front leaf spring hanger & under the T bar crossmember wherre the frame rail meets it

Okay so actually on the t bar crossmember?  That will give it an even load all winter?  Thanks CP.

Maybe for the winter I would do the rear axles and the front control arms?

Right Tom, but I want the load off of the suspension, and about the same weight on each stand, to distribute the weight.

So you want all your shocks maxed out and to put stress on the ball joint angles :clueless:  It also puts stress on the equalizer bushhings and other pieces when it just dangles

I was just raising my car up in preparation for changing the motor mounts. With a 440 in the nose there is obviously a lot of weight up there. The frame can handle that kind of cantilevering?
