Electric Fuel Pump

Kmyles - if you have a fuel vapor or return line then I suggest you use it. Take a look at the attached Mallory site link as they explain and show some fuel line schematics. What you also need is a fuel line regulator. This would be mounted on the return side of the carburettor back to the tank. So the advantage is you get full fuel volume to the carb and the pressure regulator knocks the pressure down to 5-7PSI. Also you get constant fuel flow (IE no surges when you put your foot in it) and the circulating fuel ensures a cooler fuel supply on hand in the hot summer days. Anyway take a look at the link and see if it can help you decide.

The regulator or pump that I have dosn't have a return line on it so for now I will hook the vent line to the valve cover and hook the regulator up before the carb. In the event that I end up needing a return line (which I think I will( I will use the vent line and vent my tank via the four vent lines at the top of the tank. Let's all hope for the best!! Said it befoe but I am going to try an start it this weekend Wish me luck

Hey Guys,

I too am about to run an electric fuel pump and return line. does it matter which of the 4(5)? vapor lines I use to send the fuel back in to the tank. The vapor return line I have now seems to connect to the filler neck?  (sorry if this is considersed a hijack!)

I have tried to find a "pin-out" of line vapor lines, but no luck.

Note that, based on the referenced Mallory web site (and others), the return line is recommended to be as big or bigger than the supply line.  I don't think the vapour lines are that big.

Depending which regulator you have you may or may not need a return to tank line.  Mallory has both kinds.  If you have the return to tank style you should run fairly large return line ie 5/16 min.
