I know of several salvage companies that all the did was haul of clunkers from dealer lots, take them to warehouses and have a mass stripping party. Then send what was left to scrap. Tidy little moneymaker.  :money:

And thats how it SHOULD have been done......why throw out the baby with the bathwater?

I think that program was wasting for waste's sake......But it helped the big O' look like he was doing something for the economy/environment/auto industry all at once.

It hurts to think of how many nice rides were scrapped due to this farce under the guise of doing good for the greater good.

Its like suggesting we euthanize all the people over 80 (no offense to any octogenarians here) and saying that it saves healthcare costs, environmental damage (due to diapers , medical waste, plastic from all those medicine bottles, etc), and overall frees up society to deal with other issues than caring for elderly.....its not ethically or morally right.

In this case its only inanimate machines dying but its a similar concept....

We have become a society of one-time users -- wasters -- land fillers -- and its sad.
