E-body front drum-to-disc conversions
« on: October 01, 2009 - 07:56:28 AM »
Hey gang..
I have a friend who's in her first time Mopar, a '71 Challenger R/T. She's wishing to convert the original manual front drums to disc brakes. She's been looking at the kit from Summit

(Summit SUM-BK1209 - Summit Racing® Complete Drum-to-Disc Brake Conversion)

 Summit Racing conversion kit link

Does anyone have experience with this kit? I'm wanting her to get feedback from people who have actually done this versus conversion utilizing factory components off a E-body for the conversion. Granted, doing the later will probably cost a booster servicing, rebuild calipers and new rotors. But, the cost might be nowhere near the kit and it would all be factory OEM parts.

Thanks for any input..

OH, and she's wishing to incorporate a line-lock system in it.
