elastomeric bumpers on base challenger
« on: June 21, 2007 - 10:58:15 PM »
I think I asked this question before but never got a definite answer. I know that for Challengers 71 was the only year they were actually an option, but I have never seen a base Challenger with them. Because half of both bumpers are blacked out ala R/T, what if anything could be done with a base Challenger? I am not going to make my car an R/T clone so the grille and taillight panels will be argent. Anyone ever hear of a base Challenger with that option? Barry?

According to the 71 order sheets the rubber bumpers were only an option on the 71 Challenger R/T.  The car had to be one of these colors to get the bumpers also:  FJ6,GY3,GB2,EV2,FE5, and FC7.

I thought I would update this thread since I was surfing Barry's site and found evidence that after a certain date any Challenger could be bought with elastomeric bumpers provided they were certain colors. They would just have to have the R/T blackout on the grill and tailpanel.

You can link to the original page;

No pop-ups or ads that way.

Saving HH images to another site is also against the terms of use;

It also lets me check the site counter to see what types of items folks look at the most when folks view them at the source.  :bigsmile:

Sorry Barry, I didnt know I was stepping on toes. Good to know we can link from your site. I had read threads many times where people included pics of data from your site, never knew how I did it was taboo. I will not do it like that again, just the best way I could think to get the information here from there.

I know TheDodgeBoys bought and installed a set on his car. He posted a couple of pics and his car looks amazing. He may have some advice as to how they would fit on a base Chally. Brackets different maybe?

Nope same brackets, If ya like the look do it.  :2cents:

I have an original front with a little tweak on the right side I would make you a deal on and a set of fiberglass in yellow I would let go of cheap if you’re interested.
